At a glance

  • Koval Lane is down to one lane each way between Rochelle Ave. and Westchester Dr. from Oct. 19 (RTC, FOX5).
  • Seven Route 119 bus stops on that stretch of Koval Lane are closed around the clock (RTC, FOX5).
  • Five Strip bus stops close midnight to 9 a.m. on weekdays through Oct. 30 (RTC, FOX5).

Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix construction is moving to Koval Lane this week. Starting Sunday, October 19, Koval Lane is reduced to one lane in each direction between Rochelle Avenue and Westchester Drive as crews keep building the street circuit ahead of the November 19–21 race.

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) says the lane reduction is in place at all hours for the week. An earlier race traffic advisory, reported by FOX5 on October 12, listed the Koval Lane restriction as overnight, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., October 19 through 23. Either way, expect slower traffic on Koval Lane east of the Strip and allow extra time.

Seven RTC Route 119 (Koval/Simmons) bus stops on that stretch of Koval Lane are closed around the clock. Riders should board at a different stop, and the RTC lists every closed stop on its alerts page.

On the Strip itself, five bus stops serving the Deuce and Routes 119 and 203 are closed from midnight to 9 a.m., Monday through Friday, through October 30. The southbound Deuce stop near Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan (stop 3590) is closed around the clock through November 9, and westbound Sands Avenue stop 2505 after Koval Lane remains closed until further notice.

The RTC recommends using the rideRTC app to track buses in real time, or calling 702-228-RIDE (7433), option 4, for help planning a route.
