The origin of Live At Your Own Pace (LAYOP) dates back to the 1990s. Saginaw, Michigan is the birthplace of LAYOP, where a group of ambitious individuals dared to be different through fashion. They bonded together to establish their own line of unique apparel.

Keeping it simple and plain is the name of the game, with the mission statement focusing on making clothing that appeals to those who live at their own pace. The look is defined as clean, comfortable, and confident.
